Private Instruction

Private instruction is conducted over email, or by postal mail.  It can include writing suggestions or prompts, along with feedback on poems, or just feedback and advice on poems that you’ve already written.

Prices are as follows:

4 or 8-week Private Instruction (repeatable)

Each week, you will send one poem draft (ideally by email), and LouAnn will respond to it with her suggestions.  Then you may revise and send a second draft of that poem for her further feedback.  You may request a prompt each week, or send drafts that you have already written. Some general discussion (publishing venues, overall goals, etc.) included  Cost for 4 weeks (4 1st drafts and 4 revisions): $200; 8 weeks (8 1st drafts and 8 revisions, $350).

Manuscript Editing and Feedback  (repeatable only with a new MS each time):

You will send by email or regular postal mail a poetry book manuscript of 45-70 pages, or a chapbook manuscript of 20-35 pages.  LouAnn will suggest an order for the poems, edit them for spelling, typographical errors, etc., and provide feedback both poem-by-poem and on the manuscript as a whole.  Generally, you will receive the feedback within four weeks (varies).  Email to check scheduling.  Cost:  Chapbook MS up to 35 pages: $350; Full-length MS up to 70 pages:  $450.

Individual Mentoring

Individual mentoring other than what is listed above can be arranged.  Email with exactly what you would like to achieve, and LouAnn will work with you to create a program to fit your needs.  Cost: varies.
